Google offering MSI to simplify Chrome enterprise deployment

In an effort to boost Chrome adoption among businesses, Google has been working to make the browser easier to manage and deploy in enterprise computing environments. This could help Chrome gain some marketshare at the expense of Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

IBM embraces Firefox, adopts it internally

A recent change to IBM's internal IT policy has made Firefox the company's default Web browser. The move is a major endorsement of the browser's suitability in large-scale enterprise environments. IBM plans to roll it out to employees on new computers and will encourage its staff of 400,000 to use it on their existing systems.

 

 

 


COBOL goldmine

Let's say the estimated 200 billion LoC of COBOL are alive and poking dolars, euros and yens around the world.

If I charge $0,5 to convert each line to Java, C++, Scala, Ruby, ... it would make me 100 billion dolars.
